The Ninety-Ninth Ninja Episode One Review
By death on

Pros: Graphics
Cons: Level design
nice
Graphics: [B] nicely drawn graphics. The black and white setting isn't too bad either. The black blood can get annoying when you die repeatedly and you can't see the platforms anymore. A little more variety could be nice as well. The destroyable objects are great. The ninja's were just eye balls?...
Sound: [?] didn't listen to the sound.
Gameplay: [C] The gameplay is unique and original but... is a little difficult. It gets annoying to hold the mouse button so many times and your character bounces a lot. You die repetitively by spikes and most the levels you have to spend over 10 ninja's to complete. Most the levels require you to make all your own blocks to even reach the goal. I would have to say that the level design is the main problem. You need near perfect accuracy and even then, you may bounce and/or randomly fall off an edge anyway.
Story: [D] a weak story. Your 99 ninjas but where are they and why? It's their job to walk around a death-trap?
Interface: [B] Worked well but the super high bouncy rate took away from the experience. The choice to skip a level after dying a lot was nice but didn't appear often enough.
Overall: [C] i give this a C for the great presentation and professional graphics. However the gameplay was a bit rough at times. The level design could be a little better as well. A nice effort overall though.
