Zombie-Shooter Review

Pros: Fun to play for a while
Cons: Nothing to keep you playing after a couple of runs
Simple and basic, but needs work
Zombie Shooter. The name pretty much sums up the premise of this game. This isn't bad for a first project, or even a fifth or sixth project.
It's a very straight-forward, meat and potatoes kind of game. There are moving targets, you shoot them, if they hit you, you take damage......and that's it. There's a bit of a story added to the game, but you don't need to know it to play the game. You don't progress a story anywhere in this game, you just fight to survive as long as you can while racking up a points for a hi-score. It's fun, it's easy. It's pick up, play for a while, put down, move on.
Graphics are pretty basic, as well. You're the odd-colored ball that spits the yellow bars at the green bars when you press the left mouse button. Though I don't understand the scrolling background. That confused me until I realized that it didn't matter. You're here to kill zombies, and that's it.
I'll admit that the game play mechanics were better than some of the other simple shooter games I've seen on here. The character moved fluidly, the bullets fired rapidly without being a piss-stream of yellow on the screen, and the zombies didn't bunch together like they were following the same path. However, know this much when you play this game: You're gonna die. There's no pick-ups whatsoever in this game. Mainly, I refer to health pickups. Trust me, this would help a lot in this game.
So, in closing, it's a fun little game if you want to play something quick. There's nothing to get overly involved with in this game, and you'll probably put it down and find something else in a day or so, but it's good for what it is. I wish I could rate this higher.
