Star Ship Review

Pros: Interesting gameplay, polished
Cons: Short lifetime, unbalance
Original, well made combat system
Gameplay is similar to "worms" or "scorched earth", except it's in space and the gravity wells of planets makes it hard to aim instead of terrain. Neat Idea, and it is well executed here with good controls and interface. Some of the weapons seem unbalanced though, and since you can use the same ship each turn you'll probably just use your strongest ship over and over until it's destroyed. That means you won't be using all the different weapons and ships in the game as much.
Also, there is only one mode: skirmish. The map is different every time, but playing one skirmish is much like another so this game doesn't have much replay value and is very short. But it can be challenging at first, so it might take a few tries to win.
Many games of this type have a "wind" feature that changes each turn so that you can't just use the same shot over and over. This game could benefit from that, or something similar to make each turn's shots different.
Overall: Very well built and original game, just doesn't feel like it achieved it's full potential here. Maybe a sequel is in order someday?
Congrats to the creator, and to all players: check it out!
