Sector Z Review

Pros: Graphics that lets you stunned, music that keeps your adrenaline levels up, gameplay that does not let you stop playing this game!
Cons: Actually none, only the story was a bit cliche.
Fight Against The Evil P-Brain !!!
'Sector Z' is a fast scrolling shooter game, which is inspired by Section Z retro game and also by Metroid series. The main hero, who is a man in a red spacesuit (is he really a man, or not?), has to clear his way through 24 Sectors (from A to Z) and destroy The Evil P-Brain once and for all. During his quest there are plenty of hostile robots, cannons and spaceships which will try hard to put an end to his journey. However, the enemies will drop a few power-ups if they are destroyed and there are also a lot of different weapons, droids and bombs (most of them are found in well-hidden secret areas) and all this staff is really helpful for the hero. The graphics are excellent 2D (they couldn't be better for sure), the sound/music matches this game perfectly (except for the main menu theme, which sounds a little strange) and the gameplay is based on your wits. Shoot fast, shoot accurate and don't let the others shoot you (It's simple, isn't it?), move around to avoid the hostile bullets, to collect the power-ups and to search for a secret area and, finally, keep an eye on your health, on the number of your bombs and on the droid that follows you around. Have fun!!!

I have also seen 'Section Z' video and these two games are really alike! However, the old one seems unbeatable in comparison with your game. ;)

I really wanted to make a review about Sector Z. It is one of the most underestimated games in this site. As for the music, exept for the main menu theme, the rest of it is trully dynamic and fits like a glove on this game. I just found the main menu theme too "peaceful" in comparison with the more "agressive" level music, that's all.

Thanks for the thoughtful review! Reviews are always helpful. Most of the music is from the NES version of Section Z including the intro music. I'm so used to it that it sounds "normal" to me.

This game is actually closer to the NES version than it is to the arcade version. Even the bosses are similar. For the next version I'd like to flesh out the story and add some mid game cut scenes.
