123jump Review

Pros: The fact that the escape button works
Cons: Pretty much everything between when you start it and when you quit
OK, heres your fair review
The concept is terrible, It's basically the most mindless way of playing a platformer there is, no chance for exploration, no variety, nothing interesting about it, it's like piloting a train without the scenery or hope of getting anywhere. The controls make no sense, down as one of the jump buttons? The colisions are worse than the demo of my game, and it's insanely easy to get stuck on things, and at some points one takes damage for litterally no reason as the character chugs along mindlessly. The puzzles are boring at best, basically just choosing which way to jump and get stuck on a corner, which was by the only way I ever died, never because of the lazers or any other hazard, just getting caught trying to do anything. The graphics of the character are the best thing about the game, although thats like saying the explosion is the best part of getting shot in the face with a missile, it doesn't really make anything better. Overall, it was an agonising experence that if nothing else got a hearty "oh wow" out of my friends. This gives me a new understanding of the definition of the word terrible. It goes against the very reason one actually would bother to play a game, to actually do something, to actually take control of ones character and explore their world. This is just Sonic Rivals for PSP with even less control and even less amusement.
And don't go being all sore just because you got a bad review, your in a competition, if you wanna change my mind, produce a better product and I will gladly give you a good review. For every bad review I give, I give 2 good ones usually, Dont be petty and just improve your product instead. Good luck to you in future competitions.

You see, that's more like it. You don't like the game and you explain why, with lots of detail, I'm quite impressed actually.
It's true collisions don't work great, but the idea of the game it's there: Jump at the right time and decide how high. Apart from that, I used this project as an experiment where I could apply Blender graphics and animations to a game... truth is maybe I let the gameplay slips through my fingers in the process..
Anyway, thanks for taking the time for the review.
