As mentioned before, that was a slight mistake in design that was overlooked due to the competition deadline. There are 4 acceptable solutions ingame, but technically 8 should work. The problem is that there should be an extra condition that orange is not in a corner.
I had a fix for this ready and was working on a few other things, but my desktop crashed so I don't have registered GM nor the .gmk. If/when I get access to the .gmk again, I'll work on v1.1 again.
