Pixelry Demo Review

Pros: sounds, interfaces, presentation

Cons: graphics, controls, a bit of a cliché storyline

Pixelry

JOIN THE PIXELRY

The first thing that you notice when you start up this game is that it feels pretty professional.
The menu looks nice, the logo's that appear, the sounds,...
You could almost say that it looks like a game that is created by a real game development studio with paid employers etc.
When I hit the "New Game" button a man starts to explain the storyline and there I find the first contra; A skinny kid that will challenge the five strongest knights in a duel to win the hand of a princess is pretty cliché...
anyway the way it is told is good and looks professional.
From this point on it is time... time to join the Pixelry!

RACING AND DUELING

The main goal of the game is practicing yourself in dueling so that you can compete to the five knights of the kingdom.
Luckily enough that is not the only thing you can do in this game.
There also is the possibility to play a race mini-game which basically comes down to dodging objects and jumping over rocks.
It's not much but it's okay.
There also is the possibility to buy upgrades and useful items.
It all is pretty fun to play but the controls in duels could have been a bit smoother.
adjusting your lance is pretty irritating after a while.
If this game wasn't created for the handheld competition the mouse could have been usefull...

IT LOOKS NICE... I THINK

When you look at the menu's, the town, the cut scene's,... you think that the graphics of this game are pretty nice and in a way they are.
Only the sprites aren't so good.
No shading, pretty sloppy forms etc.
It sure gives the feeling of a complete style but the feeling of professionalism fades away which is a shame.
Although it is a nice game the graphics could have been better...

GOOD JOB

But this game doesn't need really good graphics to be good.
I've really enjoyed playing it and it probably will enjoy you to!
come on! Play it now, you will not regret it!
