Pros: Can load Doom WADs; very small learning curve; runs fast

Cons: The GUI was a little on the ugly side; some bugs with projectiles

Surprisingly brilliant

While the title of the 'game' doesn't give anything away, it really should have a more informative title as this is probably the most surprising thing I have seen out of a Game Maker creation.
This beast is a WAD editor for Doom. Editor and tester - and it does a pretty good job at both. It doesn't rival ZDoom as such as it doesn't have all the flashy new stuff like DECORATE - however, because of this, it loads snappily and is probably better than Doom Builder for creating simple vanilla-style maps with no new features that many sourceports give in abundance. It's as if it's trying to be simple - like Chocolate Doom, but with considerably less bugs. All these put together provide a very smooth Doom experience - simply drag your IWAD file into the window and get it loaded.
And not only that, but the map editor is extremely easy to use - and, of course, as snappy as a dog owner's fingers. Which is interesting given that you seem to have infinite space to play around with, and loading a map with a whole load of detail (like that rubbish GothicDM thing) was a lot faster than any of my attempts in DB. And I'm using a netbook here, so bonus points for that.

There were a few small niggles with the program; one of which was a large bug with projectiles. I attempted to load a map I had previously created in Doom Builder - it seemed to work fine but all the projectiles from enemies seemed to pass straight through walls - giving me no hiding places. This didn't seem to happen with the plain IWADs or any custom maps I had made with the built-in editor. This needs looking into.
The other thing was that the interface looked hideous. Some antialiasing needs to be done there, methinks.

I'll work on that projectile bug, and my plans for the future with this is to add DECORATE functionality, and reprogram everything to opengl so I can replace the y-shearing mouselook with true mouselook.

Hell, while I'm at it maybe I'll add Heretic, Hexen, Hacx, and Strife support to :P
