If you want it to be like a real breakout game, you need to figure out how to make it so that the ball will bounce at a greater angle depending if the ball hits the outer edges of the paddle. When it hits the center of the paddle, the ball should bounce directly up. You would probably need some sort of advanced physics engine to do that, though.
