The Oil Blue
From the creator of Kablooey, Greentech, and Spirits of Metropolis comes an exciting adventure game plunging you deep into the dark oceans to drill for oil.
NOTE: This is only a Demo. The full game can be purchased for $14.95. Available at Vertigo Gaming.
My first time playing this game, I was seriously in a jaw dropping situation. The graphics are just incredible, as I’ve come to expect from Mr Chubigans.
So, before you begin the game, you need to take a really long tutorial (and trust me, it’s worth every second) which teaches you how to drill, and repair all of your equipment.
The goal is to drill for oil, and sell it!
The graphics are the first thing you notice when you open up the game. Spectacular! There’s no doubt that this game author has it down.
The sounds in the game are alright. They all go well with the game, so I guess that means they’re perfect.
I like the soothing music. It gives that feeling of being deep under the ocean. Just what the game needed too!
On with the game play: After completing the tutorial, you will have learned how to repair your equipment, learned how to check your statistics, learned how to buy and view upgrades and of course sell oil.
One of the greatest things about his equipment is that things can go wrong, unlike most games. You can reach danger levels and need to slow the drill down, and things like that. You have to be very careful not to damage your equipment, because the more you damage it, the harder it is to fix.
When drilling for oil, it will be time consuming. This is the kind of game that takes up hours of boredom and puts it to good use.
Brian’s Journal:
Day 1 - After getting my island back, I quickly started drilling for oil. So far there have been no problems because I have taken every precaution necessary.
A few minutes later I got a level up. I think that’s a good thing… The batteries are running low, I don’t know how much longer I can take of this. It’s too awesome.
------
It’s a great game with addictive game play. You should try it ou- oh darn, look what you made me do! The pressure was too high while I was writing and now I have to repair my equipment. Thanks a lot!
