Pros: Read the review...
Cons: Read the goddamn review! (For lazy bums, there is no cons, alright?)
Local debugger's review
Alright, I guess it's about time i made a review for this game.
Well, i've been around since the first alpha version of FC and it have turned into a really neat game since then.
(Although i'm still missing that "awfully hard" physics you had back then
)
It's hard for me to belive that it's almost finished now, and that it have survived some of the meaner kind of us gamemakers.
(Not saying any names, those people know who they are. Well most of them anyway.)
But lets not talk about that now, here is finally my review:
(There will be misspellings, thou has been warned!)
Story:
Story, story, story...
Well, there wasn't any real story at first, at least not more then the intro telling you about how the world looks like...
And to be honest Yal, that first story you where adding, well it went kinda crazy at the end...
Seriously, smith a vamp? (NOT ANYMORE! For the readers information, there is a new storyline that have nothing to do with this anymore!)
But it got better those last days before the deadline, and I was actually a little afraid that you wouldn't finish it before the deadline due to how much you had to rework. : )
Anyway, some story parts are still under development so i can't really judge all of it.
But it looks promising, except for a few flaws, the story is great so far!
Interface:
Well, the earliest versions (0.5 Beta?) "only" had a life bar up in the left corner, no pause screen nor a weapon/item menu. (Hopefully still WiP on that part, i want to see the few none lore items there is!)
Now there is a nice HUD that's easy on the eye, giving you the vital information you need to survive as well as a Cavestory inspired pause system. And not to forget there is the weapon / lore menu showing not only your lore progress, but also let you swap weapons and gain a little more knowledge about your surrondings. (might require a trained eye and some thinking sometimes!
)
Sound:
I can't complain about it, it's neat and fits the areas/moods of the game.
But i do miss some of the earlier soundtracks, and the sound effect of picking up 1 million coins at once really makes me wish i didn't use my earphones...
Graphics:
Well it was on a retro level at first, and a good one too!
Now the graphics haven't been updated since the first... *Major graphic overhaul update* , O_O - This can't be Final Columbus, is it?
Gameplay:
Alot, well actually that is depending on the player but explore the goddamn world! It's huge!
(I will finish this review later, I'm a bit too sleepy now. -_- )

I would prefer it if you swore less, for God's name should not be used in vain. But I may be the only one saying this...
