      you could really improve this, the idea is good you just need to make it work better.
      if you use image_angle to rotate the tanks this whould be so much cooler.
      In this case just do this to make them move:

      if keyboard_check(vk_left)
      x+=5 //or whatever speed you like

      then do the same with all keys

      i think you should see if u can stop the tank when you r not using a key, but it's cool
