      The hp and damage numbers should be arranged in order to improve damage resistance and damage bonuses I think.

      @FlyingPig: Let me disagree with you, dear FlyingPig. In Venator's Commodian there are several kinds of enemies and each one has several resistances and vulnerabilities into different types of elements (fire, water, wood, metal, earth). If you just upgrade fire and water, you will eventually encounter an opponent who is resistant to both fire and water and it will be much more difficult to bring it down. The only safe strategy is to improve all your five elements as well as health and cash.
