Very simple for quite a nice little idea. There's so much you could add to it though. Like setting speeds per point on the path and using path_get(_point)_speed for friction/slip. Or having an object on a path but with another path fixed to it (moves with it) which also has another object on it, to create weird orbits or something, and that could just go on and on. And, finally, an object with 2 points on the path (like 2 wheels on a rail).
Just a couple of ideas for you there. :P
