Countdown Clock Review

Pros: Nice Graphics. Automatically sets the time correctly.
Cons: None.
Cool!
It's a nice "toy" to have if you want a clock to count down to things, or just to keep the time. I have one question: When it started, It automatically set the time to the correct time. Is this because it links to the Computer Clock? Good Toy!

As often happens when TWillson comments on something, he shows a basic understanding, but doesn't see the details. This leads him to think that most things are a lot easier than they really are.
He is correct, it does use the GML date/time functions, but there is more to it than that. For example if you set it to count down to 5:00 PM on Friday, then you might think that at 5:00 PM Thurday you have one day to go. However, you actually have 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds. Not so easy huh!

Yes its a very basic program that uses the function: date_current_datetime() and the plethora of other time/date related commands in GML. All he then does to render the analogue clock is to draw a circle get the current hour and a quick bit of math to place the hand on the correct possition of the 360 deg clock...
Simple, lame, and also already present on the desktop by double clicking the time on the right hand side of the screen....so its also pointless aswell.
