      Why does the lives object follow the view? If it's because of something in the step event, change it to End Step. Then, the lives won't lag behind.

      Oh, I see a problem. I think that the origin of the walking sprite is not at the same place as the origin of the standing sprite. So, when you start walking, the player jumps into the air and falls down. Then, when he stops, he sink below the ground.

      In the draw event of the object that draws the lives, uncheck relative (I think), and add "+view_xview[0]" and "+view_yview[0]" in the x and y fields respectively. The position on the screen goes before the +.

      Also, do you make sure the gravity is zero when the player is standing on a block?
