Panic Particle Review

Pros: Pleasant music, decent controls
Cons: Needs more engaging gameplay, collision issues.
Needs work
Panic is one of those games I have a hard time pinning down what genre it is. Some may call it a arcade game, but I would more likely call it a reflex game. A game where the players dexterity is emphasized. Sadly, while Panic has some ideas worth exploring, bland repetitive gameplay keeps it from making them a reality.
Panic Particle is a game where the player has to navigate a maze full of obstacles to find and touch green arrows that move across the screen. If the player collects all the arrows, he/she is allowed to go to the next screen to repeat the process. The first problem I have with the game is that the player moves to slow across the screen. This makes is hard to dodge the many projectiles that pass by. While there is a generous amount of life, the big problem I have is the dodgy collision detection at play, that makes the player lose large amounts of health.
This game needs a little elbow grease to reach the level the designer wants it to. It was a decent effort with a few good ideas that might make a good game some day.
