Wrong, first gm is not 100% the base game engine, merely the script language and tool/compiler. its also based around Ultimate 3d render engine for the gm base :P But because off all custom content and scripting its not wrong to call it an engine since neither gm or U3d comes with 100% pre worked collision or weapon animation scripts, even thought they bear the functions for it there is still lots work done making the magic work. its like saying that all engines are templates of direct x & c++

You misspelled 'Template' in the title. You accidentally spelled it as 'engine' which would give the impression that this is a game engine. Game maker is the game engine, so what you have is a template.
