Pros: Story, haunting ending melody, use of cultural icons

Cons: Red dots too powerful

A surprisingly philosophical experience

Warning: Spoilers.
At first glance, one would assume that this is a simple platformer where one progresses through levels to kill countless swarms of mindless enemies. However, as one travels through the game, its true nature is revealed. A disembodied hand, symbolizing the hand of god. As one is fleeing from the hand, which is immortal and impossible to confront, it represents how humanity flees from religion, yet god, as a moral and cultural influence, remains present, however subdued, in our modern society. It could also represent the undeniable nature of fate, and how people try to escape it. When we meet the unnamed friend (let us call him the "traveler" ) , it seems strange at first, given that he was never before mentioned in the story. However, one can view his sudden appearance, as the descending of a prophet, such as Jesus, who shows us the one true path so that we can accept and conquer fate. As such, the next time the player encounters the "hand of god", he is no longer forced to flee, but instead faces it head on, finding little challenge, and realizing that ones fate can truly be conquered and changed (once one has accepted Jesus as their lord and savior). Before making his way to the final boss, ninja guy falls hundreds of feet, symbolizing a death and descent into purgatory, where he meets his maker. There, he is told of dimensions and worlds beyond our own, symbolizing heaven. The final resolution, whether the character actually makes it into heaven or not, is left unresolved, causing a cliffhanger that makes us question our own path to heaven. The programmer is most likely the pope and/or a cardinal given the obvious Christian implications of this game.
