Rune Star Review
By crimson651 on 09 June 2010

Pros: Nice Old-School Anime Graphics, Good Variety of game modes, Nice diversity of Characters

Cons: Gameplay is fun, yet can get repetitive, No story, Music

Epic? Or Not?

Runestar is a beat-em-up/RPG/Fighter game for yoyogames. This game has great potential and all, but does fail at some points. Still, I cannot lie in saying that this is definitely not a game on here to over look.
Graphics- Okay so the graphics on this game are very good, being that they have that classic look, with a blend of anime in them, but still, the animation for the movement could be a little fixed. I will admit on saying that it was hard to find any flaws for the graphics.
Sound- SFX are good for the game, but the music is quite annoying! And the whole YOU DEAD SFX thing that comes on when you die is just stupid. Other than that, it's pretty good.
Story- None. That's the biggest thing that pisses me off. NO FREAKING STORY! Really it's annoying. I wish there was a story, because if there was, I would be like in love with this game (if the story was good enough) The whole fact that before there is a battle there is a quote from your character kind makes me want to see the story behind it.
Gameplay-Fun yet repetitive at times. It plays as a beat-em-up, but also has some RPG elements, such as having the ability to increase and decrease attributes for your character.
There is also no lie that this game is not one of the easiest games on here. This games manages to keep a perfect level of difficulty, being that it's not too hard, nor is it too easy.
Interface- Pretty nice, no special effects or anything on the title screen, but hell, I'll let that slide.
Overall- So I am seriously surprised this game is not a featured game. I think the only thing that is holding this back is a storyline. Just do that, and then this game would receive 5 stars. Really incredible game, wouldn't mind a sequel. I can say that I am kind of addicted to this game as well.
