IceOver Review

Pros: Amazing sense of nostalgia, entertaining for a while
Cons: not enough lights, unstable fps, walking through terrain
IceOver
The one thing that really strikes me about this game is the overwhelming feel of nostalgia. I feel like I'm playing a ps1 game, albeit not a very good one. But, somehow this works. The game reminded me of the good old days of playing my ps1. Back then, to me, it didn't matter how good a game really was, I always had fun. And the same thing applies here. I'm sure that this game could have been very good had it had more time to be developed, but there are some things that annoy me. Lighting is spotty, there are many dark spots where you cant see. Terrain isn't the best, the player can walk through hills and often times out of the level itself. The framerate was somewhat unstable, it often dropped, but it wasn't to bad.
Overall even though it doesn't have the best story, interface, graphics, or very much polish. The game is fairly good, and can stand up to others in the Winter Competition as this is one of the most original entries.

I was able to walk outside of the level on the newest current version. As for the framerate, it wasn't that bad. Every once and a while it would drop down to around 25 but then go back to normal before I could really tell. My pc is good, I can run The Alter on my pc without any fps drops whatsoever.

originality. that is definitely one of the best things going for our game. i've never seen anything like it, concept- wise. i personally thought that we inproved the lighting over the previous version. you are supposed to be able to hide in the shadows, though.
you shouldn't ever be able to walk out of the level in the current version. when did you play it? what day?
as for framerate, that all comes down to how good your PC is. it ran at a constant 30 fps on ours.
