Oriontide: Forever In The Eternal Darkness Of The Nameless Review
By Rainsong on 14 May 2008

Pros: Music works well, interesting concept of story, working gameplay.

Cons: horrible dungeon design (mindless square rooms), very short, no instructions, unbalanced battles later on

Good in theory, lacking in practice.

This comes close to being a good, solid RPG but falls short due to a few flaws. The dungeons are big empty spaces, the difficulty-curve of monsters is practically vertical at one point, and the entire game provides, at best, 45 minutes of play. For an RPG that is barely a demo. What little story there is, its intriguing but due to overall length seems cut short.

If there were a sequel or something, long enough that the timer system wouldn't be feasible and with a slightly improved battle/stat system, I'd play it in a heartbeat.
