Jumper-Ball ZX 3 Review
By bukster on 09 January 2008

Pros: Loads of powerups and unique new ideas for spicing up the old breakout game

Cons: Music, sound effects, hard to see the ball in some positions

New spin on classic breakout game

An interesting spin on the game Breakout. This game is 3D, so the angle of play is about the same as if you were looking at a chess board. The blocks are sometimes in stacks, so when you knock out the bottom one, the others fall down to take its place.
As it's 3D, you can loose sight of the ball occasionally. Also, the bat can obscure the ball as it is a raised block itself. This might be improved by making the bat flat or partialy transparent.
This game could also be improved by allowing the player to turn the music off that plays in the game.

Poor ZX has been driven quite crazy by some of my sggestions, but has gone beyond the call of duty and made the bricks partialy transparent and has added the ability to turn the music by pressing F2 in the title screen.

That's got to be worth extra credit and so an extra star for sound, interface and overall rating.

You don't like the music?! Why? I don't think anything is wrong with it. And whats wrong with the sound effects? They are from Super DX-Ball, the single greatest breakout game ever. But you are right that the ball can get lost occasionally, I hope to improve this later on.
