mage leif, i agree. 4.0, while moderately entertaining, dumbed it down so newcomers (the warcraft generation).
i perfer AD&D 2nd edition. but tolerate 4th. i have some rulebooks for 4th, but they are not, and never will be, for sale. it kind of makes newcomers think that their character has to be a specific race and class for a character. it does not matter what your character has, but how you play that character.

Hey, I'm a big fan of DnD (love 3.5, not so much version 4; they kind of dumbed it down for newcomers). Nice simple game.

The d20s worked properly (I think), but I agree that it should be easier to check your stats and health. Also to keep items like potions etc. for later use.
