Time Guardian demo Review
By GoldenHawk on 19 February 2008

Pros: Manages to hold it's own, story wise and in terms of overall gameplay and design.

Cons: Graphics could've been better. Some of the gameplay mechanics could also have been improved before its release.

Interesting Concept

I'll give HourxOfx my thumbs up for a great concept, for something I see many games on here lacking recently - an interesting story.
Though it isn't the most complex of plots, Time Guardian's story does the job of giving the player some knowledge of their surroundings while setting the atmosphere of what is to come.

I also like having a menu from which I can load my game (something many recent games aren't taking advantage of).

Both story and interface, as well as gameplay, are solid, yet, with plenty of room for improvements.

The graphics, however, were somewhat distracting at times.
Energy/health was drawn as blue crosses and the red stuff (blood?), usually covering the scenes, was dominating.

Character animations and controls played pretty solidly.
For a demo, this game really shows off the effort put into it.

My final overall rating for 'Time Guardian demo' is a 4/6.

Would love to see the completed product!
