Neo's Adventure Review
By Lystic on 20 February 2008

Pros: Respectable Graphics, Nice Music, Good Game Mechanics for a story driven RPG

Cons: Not Much Story, No Quest Tracking, Possible Game Ending Glitch

A Promising Rpg that is Missing some of the Rp

I started off very impressed by Neo’s Adventure. You play as Neo, a Kid that seems like he just wants to help out. Similar to games like Harvest Moon, there is no fighting, instead you talk to the people in your neighborhood and help them out with things in their life. While this is interesting to some because of the story each character has to tell, Neo’s Adventure is very straight forward and doesn’t have much of a story or any sub-plots but rather objective. So you go from person to person, and they all need help, and usually the person that will help u also needs help so you get everyone what they need and eventually you get a reward. Which is great but really your money can only be used to get more quest items and it all eventually hits a dead end. I am not sure if it is a glitch or the end of the game but when I learned how to swim, the game would not let me in the lake and keep giving me a message saying I didn’t learn how to swim. I had done all the other quest I could find so I figured game over. I might have missed something, but the game has no overall map, or any kind of inventory to see if I had any items on me I forgot to give back.

In Closing, Neo’s Adventure was short and showed the potential game maker has for Rpgs, a good story could go along way here, which could be a simple fix. Also some type of way to keep track of quest/inventory and a game over screen when the game is over. If these things could be fixed, I would defiantly want to play more of Neo’s Adventures.
