The game, I've found, is actually quite easy. With reasonable skill with the mouse, you can easily collect every square on almost every level. I cleared every level perfectly, usually with at least 8 seconds to spare on the clock. My score:
205600 points.
I don't know how experienced you are with GameMaker, but if possible, I recommend you add online highscores to this game. There's people on yoyogames that would be happy to show you how.
Otherwise, it's a great first game.
