      GC Shepard, apparently he has not as much as me, because orcs were used by sauron. saruman had the uruk-hai for his army. uruk-hai were an advanced race of orcs that appeared in the late third age. it is assumed saruman somehow modified orcs to create uruk-hai. sauron used the orc in his armies, not uruk-hai. sauron had been using orcs since morgoth created them. most of saurons army was made up of either the orcs of mordor or trolls and olog-hai.
