      you should probably center his sprite's origin in the sprite properties.

      sorry about the delay...
      Just put in "bob's" "UP" event
      {
      if(collision_point(0,1,solid,false,true)
      {
      vspeed = -8;
      }
      }
      you also have to make sure that the blocks are solid, and you may want to change the vspeed to your liking.
