Detective Cheese Episode 1 Review

Pros: fun idea, and fairly interesting storyline
Cons: plain system, no unique gameplay.
Detective... cheese?
OVERVIEW
As you start playing Detective Cheese, the intro automatically makes the game look promising and interesting. But once you start the game, things don't seem to hold their ground. You play as a block of cheese, and I mean that quite literally. One that has no facial or body features, but is simply a block of cheese that manages to jump and run the streets of the big city he dwells in.
GRAPHICS:
The graphics are all custom, which is great. And at that they are decent, although not great. One thing that I find lacking is any sort of animated spriting, and at that creativity in the character that would require spriting. Detective cheese has no eyes, no mouth, no feet or hands, but supposedly manages to narrate the story he's telling, and operate a radio. ("walkie talkie"
On terms of creativity, animation, and outstanding visuals, I give the graphics 4 / 6 stars
SOUND:
The sound in the game seems suiting to the graphic style, although it seemed none of it was custom. Nothing much to analyze here
3 / 6 stars
GAMEPLAY:
not much to say here. At all. in fact, if it wasn't for the storyline, this game wouldn't last 12 seconds. although I found no noticeable bugs, the gameplay consists of a very simple platform engine, in which you "walk" (or is it "slide"
and jump over obstacles. no enemies. no death. no score. No gameplay.
2 / 6 stars
STORY:
Although it is short lived, the stroy is what drove this game. It's nothing phenomenal, but interesting, none-the-less. What's given could be written better, and presented better, but either way, I give it a generous 5/6 stars
INTERFACE:
Quite nothing. the interface is an almost annoying series of message boxes, in their plain Grey presentation. creativity, imagination, and a little bit of work here would really improve this area of play.
