Battle High : Team Up Review
By AntGaming on 07 April 2009

Pros: This game was extremelly well sprited, and is fun to play... for a little bit...

Cons: Regular moves seem pointless when you can use "specials". And theres not much to choose from when it comes to characters.

Is that it?

Alrite before I get to my review, I would like to say that this game is very well made and has well made controls, and all that good stuff. I admire titusthreex for his great job on this Battle High: Team Up. Now im sorry but im about to get brutal on this game...

My first impression when I played this game was "Wow, they musta put a lotta time in this thing." My exact thoughts. I played through a couple rounds and it was pretty fun... Thats all it was. This game had so much potential, ESPECIALLY because it looks so good, but playing wise, it got kinda boring. Pretty dull.

How could this game have saved itself and went to my #1 favorite game here? Well- Lemme tell ya. The fighting system itself. It was awesome for the first couple rounds. I was kicken ass! When all of a sudden, I realized the "special moves"... What the heck is this...? So Jiro's "special" is he turns pink, and repeats time as he does the SAME punch... THREE TIMES. And im pretty sure it does the same damage as 3 regular attacks, but im not positive. So, what made me angry about this was that these characters looked so cool and the gameplay was fine, and when you use your special it should be a "This is gonna be INTENSE!" kinda feel. Instead, I press forward punch/kick and I get to watch the same move three times. All im saying is, the highest point of the fight should be the finishing blow! You know what I mean right?

If each character had their very own original, mind popping finisher, this game would have made it a lot further up the list for me. Thus, I gave gameplay a 2. Sadly, i didnt give it that because the specials werent INSANE, but because they barely even had them. That 3 punch/kick thing could be a really cool combo, but not his special move!!!

Moving on, the next thing Battle High could've done was (obviously) HAVE MORE CHARACTERS!!! If this game had more characters with their own original moves, easily this could've been in my top 3 favorites. Thats all I have to say on that matter.

So all in all, I do enjoy this game (or at least did), but it has waaaay more potential. I would definately look forward to a sequal or remake of some sort, if your up to it. And if not, continue making these games until you hit full potential.

Congratulations on your success,
Ant
