Where did all the good platformers go?

It's great to see a well crafted platformer these days. So many lack animations or interesting backgrounds, admittedly, square-ish land is not to my taste but I suppose it is an old school style game. It's great that this game keeps to the arrow keys and spacebar, (game makers, they were put there for a reason! ) Anyway, although I haven't played through all of it yet, (curse you continues!) It looks very promising. Of course there is a good deal of room to improve, e.g. Why does hellball still go flat at the bottom when travelling through the air, could you fix that? And maybe a different key for jumping and attacking. I would also like to see more variety of techniques to defeat enemies in standard levels, overall, keep up the good work and bring out another game!
