ZOMGMAN 2 Review

Pros: Very nice graphics, the menu graphics were nothing less than exceptional, simple but good music and sound, the game had a humorous edge to it, the fighting engine was easy to learn, the game offered a challenge, and there were a bunch of arenas to use in
Cons: Very repetitive, sometimes levels turned out a bit too challenging, the non-anti-aliasy shading in some of the backgrounds BURNED (xD), the humor was mainly alcohol and/or slapstick related so I didn't take any particular liking to the background story, t
ZOMG!
Overall, "ZOMGMAN Battle Arena 2" is pretty good. The graphics are very nice, the cartoony style has a good flow to it... It wasn't at all reminiscent of games with small sprites that strike you as "oh, these are sprites", if you get what I'm saying =P
The arcade-type music and sound effects got the job done, and didn't leave the player bored as a soundless game would, but it was overall a bit uninteresting. The blend deserves a 3-star rating nonetheless.
The gameplay wasn't anything different than that of a one-button-mashing thing: there was no way to block and dodging by jumping was just too difficult, so I would just resort to mashing the attack key right next to my enemy. I suggest that you throw in some sort of way to block if you ever plan on making a sequel or revamping this version. Otherwise it was fun, and offered moderate challenge. While the fighting got repetitive, there were still some things in there that mix the gameplay up a bit.
As for the story... I really disliked the humor, but I suppose it was supposed to be a bit "newbish" considering the game was about a guy named ZOMGman
User friendliness and menus were great. There was no puzzle to solve when trying to start up the game or move around and fight, and I liked the fact that you could start playing with no prior background information or long character dialogues. It was a nice casual game.
Now, about the "two-player battle mode"... I found this more fun than the story mode, and would have found it even more fun if I had someone to play it with Dx
When I tried controlling both at the same time, my keyboard would glitch out and stop working... That's probably because I use a ThinkPad which disallows more than four keys being pressed at once, but it was still a big cut in the user-friendliness. I definitely would have liked an AI enemy or two and possibly some sort of online play, but I know both of those would be very difficult to accomplish...
Anyways, this is a great casual game. Story definitely isn't a strong point, but if you need to kill an hour or two this is a great game to play and has good graphics and some humor to go along with it =D
