The Hordes Review
By Mynameisonic on 13 September 2008

Pros: Great retro style graphics and gameplay, lots of bullets flying about, online highscores

Cons: Gameplay is a bit repetitive, music is rather uninteresting

Good, but not what I would expect from Pug Fugly

Strangely, this game is a lot harder at the beginning than it is later on. I think its because of the extra bullet upgrades... It's also a little dull and uninteresting to start off with, but it's a lot more fun when you can kill hordes of enemies (excuse the pun) all at once. Good game, but as I've said it's not as good as some of Pug Fugly's other games. Considering that there's a link on the title screen, I almost have to wonder if it was just thrown together to advertise his music video (which was, by the way, very strange but cool).
I never thought I'd be saying this of a Pug Fugly game, but I didn't really like the music. I love the music in R2S9 and Destructivator, but I just didn't like the music in this one. I can't really explain it. Maybe it's just too happy or something...
Sadly, for the first time since Robot Cats from Mars, I cannot honestly give this game a 6/6. However, a 5/6 is still much better score than I would give most of the games on this site.
