The default GM particle effects such as explode do not fit the invaders when exploding. In fact particles wouldn't really fit this pixelated theme in general (unless cleaverly done) I'd expect those pixles to shoot away in all directions. The shield around the ship does not fit the theme either.

i dont like the graphics, you claim to be pixely-old style, yet you use effects that look sort of like a popsicle when yoiu shoot that arn't pixely, and when it is blocky, the pixels are gradient, fair game, but needs improvment.
