GodlyScape V1.5 Review

Pros: Umm... It's a demo? Okay, it's based off Runescape and leave it at that.

Cons: Three Words: User Interface Fail

It's okay for a demo

Okay, for a game based off of Runescape, it seemed to get the basics down, but there is one thing that I don't ever recall while playing: gaining experience just for walking. I'm pretty sure that by guessing that the skill I upgraded was Agility, but last time I checked, you don't get Agility experience just for walking around. Instead, you go to a course and do laps. I have 2,264,107 agility experience ingame, and that's level 81 (believe me, it is extremely repetitive 0_0).

Haha, just kidding, but there was one thing that bothered me: the interface. The interface was half-hidden on the screen, and I could not select most of the options. On your screenshots, the interface appears normal, but in normal gameplay, this screenshot shows about as much as I can see: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2053/aread.png

And that's at the highest resolution that my computer can go (1024x76cool, so make some options for computers that are at a lower resolution than yours. Not everyone has that HUGE of a resolution.

OR maybe the interface could be dragged around as the player desires. In this manner, the player can place the interface where-ever he or she chooses.

I think the player character could be something other than just a dot on the screen. Maybe in the future you can customize your character.

Overall, it seems like a pretty decent game, with leveling, saving your character, and doing things that normal Runescapians do (yew logs, yew logs, yew logs...), but I'm afraid that I can't enjoy it as much as I'd like, mostly because of the shy interface.

Hope this helps with future incarnations of this game.

I was kidding about the Agility part. =]
I'm running Windows XP at a resolution of 1024x768.

Glad I could help you out.

"maybe the interface could be dragged around as the player desires."

I wished to do this, but the way I have everything setup, if it were possible, it would be very diffucult.

It will probably be done, but mostlikely if I get that far, it would be in Version 2.5/3

Thanks for your suggestions! They Will help.

"you don't get Agility experience just for walking around."

I know, but I tried adding the agility courses and it didnt look good, nor did it work well,

    "The interface was half-hidden"

Sorry about that, I didnt know that it would do that. I will try and fix that if I make a new version.

"Not everyone has that HUGE of a resolution."

Lol, Im not sure if it was huge, but that doesnt matter because it was an old *** computer, I got it like 8 years ago.

    Continued
