Not a bad attempt, but you need to brush up on a few things if your going to make a game like this, imho.
1. Sprite animation : Only one sprite used for the character, the game would have been a lot better if you could turn different directions. All you really have to do for that is go into paint and hit the flip button.
2. Can he shoot?: There was a gun, which I thought was cool. I could not figure out how to shoot. Need more detailed instructions, if he can't shoot don't put a gun in :P
