The Manipulator Review
By PirateGuy on 13 December 2010

Pros: + Unique graphics + Interesting story + Fun, unique gameplay + Interesting moral choices

Cons: - Difficult - No save feature

Style AND substance wrapped in a retro package

I actually made a account here just to review this game; that's how amazing it is. While the idea does seem a bit similar to Abe's Odyssey, that's certainly not a bad thing since this game is so unique in every other respect. This game is wonderfully unique, with lots of personality and fun gameplay. This game has both style AND substance, and it wraps it all up in a neat retro-looking package. The game manages to be visually appealing by introducing a neat twist on old-looking graphics with neat visual filters that help you get more immersed into your role as a "Manipulator". In addition to the fun gameplay and wonderful visual style, The Manipulator puts lots of cool little details into the game in the form of bios on the various security guards that help contribute to the depth of the moral choices the game presents. You can either kill them or find a method of getting through with non-violent means. I'm only taking off 1 star in the interface section for 1 reason: No save feature. It makes the game a bit of a pain when you come back to playing just to find you have to play all the early levels all over again. However, if you like fun, original games, just play this; you won't be disappointed.
