GOX Review
By PROJECT PIGEONS on

Pros: Fun minigame that'll keep you entertained.
Cons: Bad sensitivity and been done before.
YYR: Fun minigame
Graphics 4/5:
Very nice, loved the intro. The menu looks good too, but as the text moves off screen, it should come back on screen on the other side a bit sooner: there are a few seconds where you can't see the text. Not a very big con, but hey, I gotta write SOMETHING?
Sound 4/5:
Nice music. Could use more soundeffects, but it's not a must. A nice touch would be to make the music go faster the longer you survive. Or is that already in there?: I'm not very good at this game... (Highscore 2026)
Gameplay 4/5:
Well done. A big con of this game to me is that these sort of games already exist, but things like the stars and passwords make this one more unique. What also bothered me, was the sensitivity of the ball you control. It went down quite fast, yet moved up a little more slowly. I actually played this game (not GOX but the concept of this game) on a calculator (not a normal one but one of those TI-83's), where you played as a line, not a ball. That was more fun, because a line can fit through extremely small spaces, giving you more hectic gameplay. Maybe the ball should be smaller, I don't know. But I don't want to sound too negative, it's just that simply pointing out what's good won't help much. I tend to point out what could use improvement. All in all, the gameplay is very good.
Story -/5:
No story and no need for one.
Interface 4/5:
The controls were perfect, although, like I said, the sensitivity could be better. I'm especially glad you only use the Up-arrow and not both the Up- and Down-arrow, although there's a special mode where you can.
Overall 4/5:
Great minigame, very addictive. (The one I mentioned on the calculator had my entire class hooked for months.) Good graphics, sound, gameplay, interface: what more could you want?
