Eggman Review
By shroomz120 on 06 February 2009

Pros: very fun, great sound effects

Cons: platforming is a little buggy and I killed 1004/1000 eggs

1 vs 1000

overall 4.5/5 but i'll round up - This is a very addicting game with many levels and fun gameplay. There were a few glitches that can easily be fixed.

Graphics 4/5 - The graphics were very interesting, but the player and enemies could be improved with some shading. I liked the blood splatters and explosion particles

Sound 5/5 - The sound is very good with a nice background music.

Gameplay 5/5 - This game was amazingly fun to play. It started easy while I got used to the controls then it got steadily harder. I really liked the part where you had to kill 400 explosive babies, because that was the closest part to a boss battle. This game didn't need a boss battle, but that would have made it more fun. I really love the cheat power you added(I admit I used it a lot), but I want to know what the egg says just before you use it. Another thing I suggest is more weapons to find, but at least you get infinite ammo with no reloads which was good.

Story 2/5 - There was not much of a story, but this game didn't really need one. I did like the ending so I made it 2/5 (didn't affect the overall)

Interface 4/5 - The hud was an easy to read circle cut into 8 parts to show your health. The controls were just like any other platform shooter, but I gave it a 4 because I like to use the WASD keys to move in platform shooters. There was also times that I had to keep jumping to reach a platform because the jump just barely reached. One more thing, If I walk on the doors that lead to the next level before they open, I would have to jump out because there is a tiny edge that stops me from just walking off. You could raise the door or make the bounding box bigger.

I also liked the way enemies spawn all over at specific times. I want to know if you used timelines or alarms or what?

lol the egg says "1, 2, 3 ... POWER-THRUST" which is sort of an inside joke :P ..partially based on POWERTHIRST on youtube, which is really good :)

and some enemies are there from the start, some appear after you walk over an invisible object, some appear when you reach a certain stage in the level... it just depends on the enemy...

perhaps i might make another one of these games one day with more enemies, guns, better collisions, etc... but im glad you enjoyed this one :D
