Wolf's Casino Review
By Vlad Shadeu on
20 July 2009
Pros: Sound and graphics are tops, gameplay is almost the best one could ask for, story is 100% of expectations (none)
Cons: Betting interface is inconsistent, i needed two higher chip values than existed (a petty quibble), not enough prizes for someone who knows how to play coin drop right, coin drop can be played RIGHT per se.
Welcome one and all to... Wolf's Casino!
(Apologies, it wont let me edit stars for some reason, the numbers are 5,5,3,1, and 4 respectively and 4 for the total) I really liked Wolf's Casino. And although Wolf has taken a break, there are spots i felt could have been done better
1. Coin Drop is cheatable. I have gotten to a million credits by playing it to the sides. Its a very nice board, but i think my winnings aren't all luck.
2. No competitive gaming. It has video poker and blackjack, but those are pretty soft card games. I know AI is hard, but those would make the game a true gem and add +20 or so hours for the fanatics. Personally i would really like to see real poker and hold'em. No slots??? Really???
3.Really nice selection of music, but it could be better (bigger). I'm very proud of Wolf for branching out with the musical selection and having something past the real "Casino" sound, because it worked, it really did. Allowing a selection from my personal midi library would also be nice.
4. I don't know if you all did this but like i said i figured out how to rob the system by playing coin drop from the sides. I would really like to see more prizes to drain away my million plus and counting chips. Basically the music quibble again. Oh yeah, and why can't i just buy cursor designs and pick colors seperately? i want the one featured in blue and green.... red. and the sparkle emission one.... black.
5. Like i said in the pro/cons this is a petty quibble but the chips dont go high enough and the betting interface is inconsistent. Yeah, they go real high, and its being a real jerk to say we need more, but why can't i just input a number somehow? the pyramid and coin drop betting should work by input due to the way they are laid out. The system is too rigid.
On the positive side: Besides everything I mentioned, this is arguably the most perfect casino game i've ever played.
I really doubt this since Wolf seems like a real nice guy, but if anyone think's i'm being rude and wants to pick on my petty game, its not the only game i made, its the only one i UPLOADED, and i really don't care either way.
