I have this game on my school PC now...where I teach. My students love playing it at the end of the day.
One girl somehow managed to get the ball stuck in the lower right hand corner twice...right as the game started.
Maybe you could include a <reset> key in case of instances like this...Or at least a key that takes you back to the main menu. This way players won't have to <esc> out of the whole game and load it in again.

Awesome graphics and music!
How about a 2 player co-op and vs. mode? The 2nd player would control the top paddle....but after each miss...the paddles would reverse sides.
