Mario Lemmings Review

Pros: This is a great concept which would be really fun to play if well executed.
Cons: Its slow speed and glitchy gameplay make this game less than attractive.
Great except for slow gameplay.
I actually really like the concept of this game. There are a bunch of Marios and you can give them powers in order to get to the exit, as per the original Lemmings games. The powers are also different than the Lemmings games, and I like those as well.
The story begins as the Mario clones escape the castle. I only played the first few levels, so I can't comment a whole lot on the story, but it doesn't really need one to be a successful game.
Here is the main problem I have with this game. It is SO slow! And there is no speed setting to make it faster. It takes around 10 minutes per level for me. And as a kicker, if a single Mario dies, you fail the level. The fast forward option in-game also does nothing for me. The level where I started getting annoyed was the first one with the multiple exits. I was giving the Marios walking the tanooki power and I accidentally clicked one of them while falling slightly above the ground. That one Mario did not trigger the exit and flew off screen, forcing me to restart. On my next attempt, I was giving the Marios the cape as they fell from the 2nd tier, and one of them got glitched being stuck in one spot.
I think that having 50 marios in simple levels is also way too many, but besides that a 100% completion ratio is annoying. I do think this game has great potential, and should be improved on. If some of the issues I brought up get fixed, I look forward to playing the next version. If not, I probably won't.

Sadly I programmed the fast forward so that it will only work on fast PC's. Thanks for the review.
