The Legend of Zelda: Cloak of Eternity Demo Review

Pros: Decent Gameplay
Cons: Few glitches, looks like it will become a dead end game :(
Pretty Good, some problems.
Graphics: It really had some okay graphics, the opening screen was actually beautiful. When link swings his sword however, there is a glitch in one of the tiles that needs to be fixed badly. And the inside of the house wasn't good at all, if you look at it you can see that it is missing a bottom to the bed and that it's exit is not the normal exit that goes with that tile set... just a few gray blocks. Also, the ASD key item setup appears "DFG" in game. XD And about the flowers, they should actually be the flower cut tile instead of the full flower that you have. The full flower should be a solid object, and should be destroyed creating the "flower cut" animation when hit by Links weapons, the effect is a proper flower.
Sound: For having good sound and music, it was extremely limited. There was nothing different in the three screens you showed... and if you want to hook someone into playing your next demo or perhaps even the full game, you really should keep them interested. Diversity! Other than that it was decent, but nothing custom and no way to change it.... get's kinda annoying.
Gameplay: The gameplay was very good, getting the Octoroks to move in the way it did when struck by the sword was okay, but it should have been more of a sharp shove than looking like link just pushed a block of ice... more abrupt and faster, the octorok should look like it was hit by the sword, because a player may not know they hit the octorok like this. It's also seems very easy for the player to play your game, which is important, because if no one can play your game that would make your game both A: Insanely hard and B: Insanely Boring. But you pretty much got this, so your good!
Story: You have told no one anything about the game... the cloak of eternity... I'm not really too interested in how this game will play out anymore, it just looks like it will be a mundane defeat Ganon, simply because you included the Great Deku Tree. That's okay if it is something like that, but if you want to have players in the darkness, you could use some more mysterious thing that has nothing to do with the last 1/6th of the game... some minor beginning plot, like being asked to go deliver something somewhere and events out of control drastically happen in the next release. You want us to want to know what happens next, to keep us intrigued. At the moment, I am not intrigued. You can also be unique with this, in fact, I encourage it, don't just copy old plots!
Interface: Pretty neat, the way to change items avoids all the glitch problems you would potentially face if you were using a subscreen. A subscreen would be VERY neat though, but it's not necessary. I also really liked your speech bubble, and your plea for this review. That made me laugh, and it actually encouraged me to type this mini-essay. Your main screen was great too, although a "File Select" would be nice, if you only plan on auto/manual saves with one file that auto-load, you don't need to do that either. Your interface was the best part.
Overall: Good, add some diversity in music, fix your graphics glitches, suck us into the game, check out how an enemy really SHOULD be repelled by the sword, and don't worry too much about your interface. I'd like to see this game go somewhere.
