Zombie Kid Slayer Review

Pros: Premise was worth a good laugh. -Really- liked the objectives listed at the top of the screen. Mowing down a mob of zombies with a hail of gunfire is fun for kids of all ages.
Cons: Controls are broken. Got caught on the scenery constantly. Bullets fire from unusual places on the character.
The foundation is there. . .
Despite all the little frustrations I had with this, there was that moment right when I first walked into the park where I realized that I was actually having a pretty good time with this game. I think it was the moment I realized just exactly how many zombies there were bearing down on me and I started using a park-bench (or whatever that was) to funnel them into my line of fire.
That's the good news. The game is basically fun. No amount of fixing can fix a game that ain't fun to begin with.
The bad news is that there are some rough edges to be sanded down to say the least. I'm running from two dozen zombies. I need to go left -right now.- However, before you move in any direction but down, it seems like you have to hit the button twice. When you're facing up and down, bullets fire from the toes of your sneakers. You can work around little things like that, but it's kind of a bummer that a little game that's basically fun is dragged down by some really basic shortcomings.
You tune this up, and you'll have a respectable homage to Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
