Infected Planet 2: The Beginning Review
By Narcissus on 02 April 2010

Pros: Gameplay, music

Cons: Graphics, annoyingly difficult

Better than the first.

A good zombie game, better than the first.

The graphics were home-made, kudos for that. But, they weren't that good. Not terrible, just not good. There were some scale issues as well. Plus the only real graphics in the game were zombies, people, and...a zombie cow?

Music was great, appropriate, the zombie sounds accompanied by a spine tingling alert sound actually made this a little scary. But there's only about 4 sounds in the game. The gunshot was the typical GM sound effect.

The gameplay was great(aside from its flaws), the only real hard part was when you were in the dark. The healthbar was really confusing. Other glitches like the ladder spawning me onto zombies. The game had changing gameplay, which is good for a usually stale zombie game. This game wasn't like "I need a new strategy and better reflexes" difficult at parts, it was "This game is annoying... I hate this game" difficult. Gameplay would be 5 star, except for its flaws... and the fact that there was only one gun didn't help either.

The story was semi-original for a zombie game. Experiment gone wrong... again. But, zombies aren't original anyway. The story had twists, a villain(which zombie games rarely have)... but it also had several plot holes as well.

The way the game ran was great, quick, to the point. 30 FPS the whole way. It was easy for the player to figure out what to do. Simplistic, in a good way.

Overall, good game. Great game compared to the regular shit thats on YYG... keep em' coming.
