Spell Weaver Review
By Fargo22 on 04 July 2009

Pros: Nice Plot, Upgrade System has potential, Controls are spot-on, Good animation w/ Sprites

Cons: Graphics could use a little more detail, Music could be better, Barely any sound effects if any, fairly short

Awesome!!!

This is a nice start to what could be an impressive series. The controls work very well, and the story gets deeper as you play. Although it is over a little too soon, the options in the gameplay are excellent (for instance, picking what type of class you want to be, or unlocking spells and upgrades on a grid), the enemies are fun to fight, and your character moves seamlessly through the world he is in. The graphics are pretty good, and the animation looks awesome.

I think that the battle system for close range combat could be further explored, but for now it is quite well done. I also hope that there is more variety in both the enemy and your character's attacks in the sequel. The only thing I really wasn't feeling was the audio part of the game. The music was okay, but I didn't recall hearing any sound effects (I might be wrong). Yeah, so next time, more sound effects please. The graphics, while nice to a point, also felt a little on the simple side, but hey, it's hard and time-consuming to make detailed sprites, so overall I commend what there was.

Overall, it is a very nice and well planned game, and I am looking forward to the next in the series. If you want a quick dose of pure fun, then PLAY THIS GAME! You won't regret it!!! That is all...

yea, I forgot to add sound effects. also, all the graphics were done in paint, which is terrible, but I think the fact that I did it with such a program deserves some form of bragging rights, but what do I know about that? I just like to program...
