Webly Review
By samscam on 06 February 2010

Pros: Good graphics, cute spiders and interesting sounds.

Cons: Almost irritating background music

Webly, the spider game.

Webly

3 little spiders are lost and you have to put them back in their webs. It sounds like it is an easy job to do, but Human Road manages to make is not as easy as you would think.

All you have to do is placing objects in a way that they will lead the spiders back to their webs. When you play the first few levels of Webly, you think that this is one of those everyday puzzle games where you just have lead something, somewhere but the next levels prove the contrary. Human Road put some refreshing elements in the game giving you a whole variety of options on how to bring those spiders back to their webs.

The game’s graphics are in a quite refreshing style. They are not old-fashioned neither do they look like it’s a game from the future. It’s a very clean game where you don’t mind looking at it whole the time.

Something that can use a little work though, is the background music. It manages to annoy from the very first notes being played. A very good solution on this offered in the game, is a button to turn the music off.
The sounds, however, are very good. They make you hear the happiness of the spiders when they reach their webs, but they also give you a bad feeling when you accidentally killed one of those cute little animals.

Overall, this is a quite nice game to play and it can manage to keep you playing it for a while. Sadly enough, the game suddenly quit for no reason and left me with a “game_errors.txt” showing me that there is an unknown variable “body”.
