PiXelator Review

Pros: Nice background music, all the basics covered for a good shooter game, simple interface
Cons: Not very many options, takes FOREVER to load
Very good game!
First, this game takes FOREVER to load. Just thought that I'd mention this twice. GM should make an option on its site not to load the background music...
If you are a fan of classic ship-shooters, however, the wait will be worth it. Slaughter a variety of ships in multiple waves and sections, fend off boss ships, rack up high scores, and don't run out of lives!!!
The graphics are fairly well done for this game. The menu has some very nice special effects done to it, and the ships don't look too shabby. There are some nice trail effects when rockes are fired from the POW powerups, and the background scrolls as you shoot waves down.
The background music is very well done for original music. There are sounds for everything in the game too.
Gameplay, well, its your typical classic shooter game, but nothing else. Shields would have some in handy for other parts of the level, and permanent POW powerups would have massively helped. More ammunition types and keys to press, as well as multipe ships to play as, would be cool to see in Pixelator 2.
The story goes as, kill the waves and beat the boss ships. No other explanation is given, but at least its something.
The interface is very clear and simple. Like it!
So I rounded up and gave it five stars. Its very good, but nothing spectacular.

Thanks for your honest review, and I´m glad you liked the music because those were the first in-game music tracks I´ve made.
