I got most of it from the resource packs on yoyogames website. A few came from an rpg making program I have too. Most of the music is remixes of old video game tunes.

I put the endless lives in so I could make it super hard. No matter what, you will get to the end. But if you don't get game over, you have a crazy high score. It's like an arcade. If you die, you just put in another quarter and keep going. (at the sacrifice of your high score though.) Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I'm probably going to make a sequel at some point, so stay tuned!

Thanks! I couldn't figure out the save game thing, (it became too easy to manipulate it and get a super high score.) I did build a level select though, so you can start from anywhere in the game. Also, the invincibility thing was on purpose. If you're stuck somewhere, I figured you could run through. You don't get any points for destroying enemies with it though, so it's somewhat balanced. I'm really glad you liked it!
